Partnerships with IST

IST serves as a technical partner in many campuswide projects and services. Where other campus organizations or departments provide the customer-level interaction, IST provides the infrastructure building blocks and additional IT services — such as data archiving and management, system backup, Internet, wireless, applications programming, and more — that enable the campus to fulfill its missions of teaching, research, and community service.

A few examples of these numerous partnerships are:

• Berkeley Administrative Initiatives (BAI): Major initiatives, including the Berkeley Financial System (BFS) and Human Resources Management System (HRMS), aimed at improving the campus's business processes.
• bSpace: A single course website system that provides learning tools to support teaching and eases the administrative burden on faculty and staff.
