Free computer training offered by IST for staff:
- CAL PACT: for UC Berkeley staff, computer software training on programs including Excel, PowerPoint, FileMaker, HTML, Dreamweaver, and Oracle Calendar (formerly CorporateTime).
Training is also offered by other campus units in addition to IST. Those offerings include:
- ETS workshops and seminars. Educational Technology Services offers hands-on training workshops for faculty, graduate students, and support staff on course web sites, web communication tools, web video and audio, multimedia, and classroom technologies.
- Discounted training vouchers. Haas Computing Services (HCS) has arranged for discounts for the campus community on off-campus, vendor-provided classes on applications (Word, Excel, Dreamweaver, etc.) and system administration and support.
- Training on administrative systems. The Office of Human Resources (OHR) has developed a list of training opportunities for staff on the various campus systems used to carry out financial, human resources, and student-related business activity (BFS, HRMS, CARS, etc.).
- Computer Ergonomics Courses offered by University Health Services.
- The Library offers resource training courses and library tours.
