As a part of the Operational Excellence–sponsored Productivity Suite project, Berkeley has signed a campus license agreement to provide the most commonly used Microsoft software to all faculty, staff, and students. There is no cost to individuals or departments for the MS software for the 2012–13 fiscal year. Software DownloadsStudents: Students can download one copy of the following products and may keep the software perpetually upon graduation.

The Microsoft agreement allows unlimited deployment of a wide range of Microsoft desktop and server software on institutionally owned devices. For a complete list, see the Product List page.
MS TechNet
The Microsoft agreement allows faculty, staff, and students free subscription to TechNet, a collection of premium support resources providing quick access to Microsoft experts, and technical information, as well as access to managed forums.
When you have been given access, you will receive an email from Microsoft with directions on how to subscribe. For answers to Frequently Asked Questions please see FAQ's. TrainingUC Learning Center. The campus offers free software training to UC Berkeley employees through the UC Learning Center (accessible via the Blu portal — CalNet ID required). In-person and online classes are available.
