CalWeb-in-a-Box is a pilot service offered by Web Applications group in IST. The service offers Joomla, Drupal, and Wordpress installation as well as a MySQL database. Custom website development with any of the tools is also available at additional cost.
This service is targeted for campus departments and units as well as faculty members who want a website or a blog but do not have time or resources to spend on maintaining their sites and applying security upgrades. It is also for current campus departments who have their websites developed in Mambo, Joomla, or other content management systems by contractors and are now left without a maintenance agreement.
The pilot service includes provisioning a website with berkeley.edu URL address. It provides one GB of disk space with 50 GB of data transfer per month. It includes installation of Joomla, Drupal, or Wordpress tools, MySQL database, and any "mainstream" components and modules such as Gallery and Calnet Authentication, if they are required by the website. It also includes upgrades and security patching of Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress and installed third party modules and components.
The service does not include shell access. The websites cannot contain any restricted data, shopping cart, or e-commerce.
