The System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) service is a comprehensive change and configuration management solution for the Windows platform. It is intended for departments needing to assess, deploy, and update their IT systems such as servers, desktops, and devices, across a distributed environment.
The SCCM service offers integrated tools with the following features:
- Asset Intelligence: track hardware and software assets
- Software Distribution and Updates: install and update software on desktops and servers
- Desired Configuration Management: assess IT systems against established configurations
- Operating System Deployment: deploy and configure servers and desktops
