AirBears provides wireless network service at various campus locations. Connect to the campus network from any computer equipped with a wireless card using IEEE standard 802.11b technology. A CalNet ID is required to use the service. Guest accounts are also available.
The service installs and activates an ethernet copper port to allow a department to connect a device to the campus network. 100MB and 1GB connections are available for new installations.
Campus departments can purchase firewall service from IST. IST can provide Cisco Systems' integrated Firewall Service Module (FWSM) or standalone NetScreen 5GT hardware firewalls.
Service to provide fiber connectivity to a department building that is outside of the main campus perimeter.
