Network Attached Storage (NAS) Services

Network File System (NFS) services are provided by SBG's own clustered NAS gateways. The bSpace and Unix WebFarm environments, among others, use SBG's NFS services. NFS services are available on premium, enhanced, standard and economy storage tiers.  Please see: http://ist.berkeley.edu/is/platforms/storage/san

Common Internet File System (CIFS) services are provided by the IST Windows Group's file servers.

Both the NFS and CIFS file servers use the IST SAN to provide highly available, easily expandable shared file systems for clients anywhere on the campus LAN. SBG's pricing is the same as for SAN-allocated capacity, based on the tier and number of blocks, so customers can the match the performance and cost of storage to their application and capacity requirements.
