IST's Web Applications unit acts as a technology hub for the deployment of secure web- and Internet-based technologies at the University. Our focus is on broadening the reach of IST into academic departments, as a resource and delivery partner, while continuing to work supporting the application infrastructure that is more administration-centric. Our approach is to provide information and technologies in a modular way that can become building blocks for applications across the University, whether this unit builds them, the campus buys them, or individual departments on campus build them.
Working with the rest of IST and other IT units, we seek to achieve economies of scale and deliver proven solutions as services, priced appropriately for an academic, nonprofit environment.
