Blu is an employee portal
designed to be your one-stop employee resource
for personalized access
to information, services and online resources.
Blu integrates several UC Berkeley online services
and web applications
into one convenient and secure location.
When you log in,
the system will recognize you as a faculty or staff member
and present you
with tools and information that are relevant
to your job functions or academic pursuits.
Blu is arranged in four categories
to help organize the information:
My Blu contains work-related tools
and other information that may interest you.
You can personalize the content and layout of your portal;
simply select the resources you like
or remove those you don't want.

People is an employee page
that contains tools for managing your personal information
such as address changes, applying for jobs (eRecruit),
and using the Human Resources Management System (HRMS).
Buying contains resources
for browsing and purchasing
office supplies, furniture, computer equipment,
business cards, and mail products.
Finance contains resources
for financial transactions and reporting
through the Berkeley Financial System (BFS)
and the Berkeley Reporting Portal.
Finance also takes you
to equipment tracking, Chart of Accounts (COA) validation,
and travel reimbursement.
The newly redesigned and upgraded Blu was launched on October 29, 2006.
It's a DB2/MVS application that will be replatformed to Oracle/Unix
in the near future (sometime in 2007).
