Enrollment and Summer Session Systems

This unit is responsible for overseeing the current, ongoing support for the Enrollment and Summer Session applications. For Enrollment, the team works with managers in the Office of the Registar (OR), and the Student Systems Policy Committee (SSPC), who sponsor the Tele-BEARS and OLADS systems. IST, OR, and the SSPC work together to ensure that student enrollment meets the needs of the academic departments, Office of the Registrar, and the students. The manager leads the development of project plans for new initiatives for Tele-BEARS and OLADS and ensures compliance with legislation and Regents' decisions that affect student enrollment.

Currently the team is evaluating replatforming the Enrollment, Summer Sessions, and Financial Aid functions from their current technology to a more modern technology. Options being considered include migrating to an ERP such as PeopleSoft or possibly Fusion; completely or partly rewriting the system from COBOL to Java; moving to an off-site, hosted solution; joining in an open-source effort with other campuses; migrating selected modules or moving everything at once; or some combination of the above.
