The Faculty Equity system is a web application that collects
gender and ethnicity data from faculty position applicants.
Statistics are generated and reported back to the Faculty
Equity office. This is to comply with an audit requirement.
When an application for faculty employment is received
in a department, the applicant's email address is entered
into the system by a department administrator. An e-mail is
generated and sent to the applicant. The applicant is asked
to fill out a supplement to the application for employment.
This supplement is accessed via the web and asks for the applicant's
gender, ethnicity, and referral information. This information
is then reported back to the Faculty Equity office. Administrators
can view the reports online, print them on paper, or download
them to a spreadsheet.
