Web Applications Platform Recommendation for IST-AS
Overview
IST-ASAG has put forward a recommendation for platforms on which new web applications should be developed in IST-AS. From 8/18 through 8/31/2006, review and comment was solicited from IST staff through the Transition Team. Comments submitted to the Transition Team were delivered to IST-ASAG, and modifications were made to the draft. Further evolution of the draft is expected as a result of ongoing review and comment from groups and individuals within and outside IST, and as a result of pilots on the recommended platforms.
The recommendation is published in its currently-released form here: web application platform recommendation, v. 1.0.0. Companion documents include the Product / Technology Life Cycle Matrix for Java/JEE and its associated "key" document, Technology Life Cycle at UC Berkeley. These documents remain open to comment; we welcome your input. Please direct feedback or questions to ist-as-architecture@lists.berkeley.edu, a mailing list monitored by the IST-ASAG team.
